Rome's main airport - Fiumicino - is about 2 hours by car from the farmhouse, ditto Pisa airport. The airports of Florence and Perugia are even nearer - but the flights are limited. Luckily we are right in the cultural centre of Italy. Florence, Siena, Gubbio, Orvieto, Spoleto and Assisi are all within easy driving distance. For those not wanting the hassle of driving everywhere there is a marvellous train and bus service from Chiusi Station. Prices are very reasonable and parking is easy. There is a car park before you get to Chiusi, just beyond the supermarket SMA; leave your car there free of charge and just walk under the railway track, through a tunnel and you are at the station. You can get to Rome by fast train in about one hour 15 minutes, and Florence, where it is very difficult parking in the city, under two hours. Regular buses go to Montepulciano, Siena and other destinations. Moiano, our nearest village with shops is about 1.5 miles away.
